Research Skills Foundations is designed for use in the classroom or for independent study. Its goal is to empower students to engage with primary sources and build confidence in evaluating historical evidence.

• Learning Tools offer support on topics such as How to Critically Evaluate a Source, How to Research Individuals and How To Use Oral Histories.
• Students can work with a rich collection of Case Studies: these use individual sources to demonstrate primary source evaluation techniques, on topics such as Using Nineteenth-Century Journals to Research Gender and Using Print Culture to Research Disability and Rehabilitation.
• Practice Sources offer students a chance to explore diaries, photographs, objects and other varied sources to practice the skills they've learned.
